دفاعی فن میں جب تک تجھ کو مہارت نہ ہو جائے
Difā‘ī fun mein jab tak tujh ko mahārat na ho jā’e
Until you master the art of defense divine,
You’ll never draw the sacred line.
خیر اور بد کی جب تک عبورت تجھ کو نہ ہو جائے
Khair aur bad kī jab tak ‘ubūrat tujh ko na ho jā’e
Until you discern good from the wrong,
Your faith will not yet be strong.
حقیقی ایمان کا تجربہ تراب کا فرش ہوتا ہے
Haqīqī imān kā tajruba Turāb kā farsh hotā hai
True faith is tested upon the dust below,
Where Ali’s humble footsteps glow.
زمین سے عرضی جو کرتے ہیں وہ ابو تراب ہوتا ہے
Zamīn se ‘arẓī jo karte hain woh Abū Turāb hotā hai
The one who bows to earth with grace,
Abu Turab is the honored face.
مصیبت سے نہ جب تک زندگی دو چار ہو جائے
Musībat se na jab tak zindigi do chār ho jā’o
Until you face the trials’ fire,
Your soul will never rise higher.

تجربہ جب تک نہ مستقبل کا پیروکار ہو جائے
Tajruba jab tak na mustaqbil kā pairawkār ho jā’e
Until your trials guide your future’s way,
Wisdom won’t bloom from yesterday.
تعاملِ دیگر سے سبق کا کاروبار ہو جائے
Ta‘āmul-e dīgar se sabaq kā kārobār ho jā’e
Through dealings with others, when wisdom’s trade you gain,
Your soul will profit from every pain.
کیسے یلغار سے بچنا ہے دفاعی علم کا انا ہے
Kaise yalgār se bachnā hai, difā‘ī ‘ilm kā anā hai
To guard from assaults, you must first know,
Defense is an inner art to show.
میزان الہی پر نقصان منافع و سلم کا ہونا ہے
Mīzān-e-Ilāhī par nuqsān, munāfa‘ o salm kā honā hai
On God’s balance, loss and gain entwine,
Peace is the profit, in His design.

Ja‘far Dānā
Ja‘far, the Sage, concludes with flair,
His words, a lesson, a whispered prayer.
