دل کو بنا کے اس نے امتحان پیری میں لیا
Dil ko bana ke us ne imtihaan peeri mein liya,
Having created the heart, He tested it through the journey of age and experience.
صلاحیت جتنی تھی، اتنی ہی وسعت تجوری میں دیا
Salahiyat jitni thi, utni hi wus'at tajori mein diya,
According to its capacity, He placed an equal measure of abundance in its treasury.
ہر دھڑکن میں پوشیدہ اک رازِ بندگی رکھا،
Har dharkan mein posheeda ek raaz-e-bandagi rakha,
Within every heartbeat, He concealed a secret of devotion.
ہر درد کے ساتھ ہمت کی ادائیگی رکھا۔
Har dard ke saath himmat ki adaigi rakha,
With every pain, He also provided the means to endure it.
دل میں اگر اس دھڑکن کی مدت نہ ہوتی،
Dil mein agar is dharkan ki muddat na hoti,
If this heartbeat had not been granted its appointed span,
راہِ وفا میں ورنہ مکمل عبادت نہ ہوتی۔
Raah-e-wafa mein warna mukammal ibadat na hoti,
A person's devotion on the path of faithfulness could never be complete.
اس کی امید پر اس دانا نے دھڑکنے کا عہد لے لیا،
Us ki umeed par is dana ne dharakne ka ahad le liya,
In hope of Him, the wise heart pledged to keep beating.
ورنہ اس دل کی دھڑکن سانسوں میں الجھ کے رکی ہوتی۔
Warna is dil ki dharkan saanson mein ulajh ke ruki hoti,
Otherwise, the heartbeat would have become entangled in breath and come to a halt.

چل دور یہاں سے جہاں تک تیری آواز نہ پہنچے
Chal dūr yahān se jahān tak teri āwāz na pohnchay
Go far from here where no echoes remain,
Beyond the reach of desire and pain.
چھوڑ دے اس مطلب پرست دنیا کو کیوں نہ ہم
Chhoṛ de is matlab-parast dunyā ko kyūn na ham
Why cling to a world that serves only its need,
Where hearts are measured by profit and greed?
کیوں اس کو دل سے لگائیں ہم
Kyūn eisko dil se lagā’īn ham
Why hold it close within the heart’s domain,
When every embrace may end in disdain?
حقیقت وہ ہے جو اس عینک میں نظر آئیں ہم
Haqīqat woh hai jo is ainak mein nazar ā’īn ham
Truth is revealed when the lens is clear,
And we behold ourselves sincere.
جعلی چہروں کے میلے میں خود کو بھلا نہ دینا دانا
Ja‘lī chehron ke mele mein khud ko bhulā na denā Dānā
Among the fair of false faces, O Dānā, lose not your way,
Guard well your truest self through night and day.
دل کی آنکھوں کو کھولو تو رازِ وفا میں نظر آئیں ہم
Dil kī ānkhon ko kholo to rāz-e-wafā mein nazar ā’īn ham
Open the eyes of the heart and you shall see,
Within the secret of faithfulness, there we shall be.
