مادّی حیات میں انسان الجھ کر رہ گیا
Maddi hayat mein insaan ulajh kar reh gaya
In material life, man remained lost and entangled.

جو کھایا تھا وہ نفس کی غلاظت میں بہہ گیا
Jo khaya tha woh nafs ki ghilazat mein beh gaya
What he earned and consumed drifted into the filth of the ego.

نہ روح کی خبر رہی، نہ دل کو ملا قرار
Na rooh ki khabar rahi, na dil ko mila qarar
He lost awareness of the soul, and the heart found no peace.

صبح گردِ مادّی میں دن ہوا غبار
Subah gard-e-maddi mein din hua ghubar
Morning lost in material dust, the day turned into haze.

رزق اگر بن جائے فقط جسم کی غذا
Rizq agar ban jaye faqat jism ki ghiza
If sustenance becomes only nourishment for the body,

روح بھٹک جائے تو نہ پا سکے  نجات 
Rooh bhatak jaye tow na paa sake nijaat
Then the soul, once lost, cannot find the path of salvation.

اٹھ! خودی کو پہچان، کہ اسی میں اللہ کی ہے رضا
Uth! khudi ko pehchaan, ke isi mein Allah ki hai raza
Rise! Recognize your selfhood—for in it lies the pleasure of Allah.

ورنہ اس چرخۂ معیوب میں جلد آ جائے گی تیری قضا
Warna is charkha-e-ma‘yoob mein jald aa jaye gi teri qaza
Otherwise, within this flawed cycle, your end will soon arrive.
